Legacy Handoff LLC ("Legacy Handoff," "we," or "us") is a business brokerage firm based in Highland, Utah. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to legacyhandoff.com, to the email and phone conversations you have with us, and to the software tools we use to run the business.
Information we collect
Information you give us. When you fill out a form on our website, join our buyer list, request a non-disclosure agreement, email us, or call us, you may share your name, email address, phone number, company name, industry, and details about a business you own or want to buy.
Information about a transaction. If you engage us to sell or buy a business, we collect the financial and operational documents needed to value, market, and close that transaction. That information is covered by the confidentiality terms in your engagement agreement or non-disclosure agreement in addition to this policy.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting provider records basic technical details such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you visit. We do not run advertising trackers on this site.
How we use it
- To respond to your inquiry and provide a free consultation or valuation.
- To match sellers with qualified buyers and manage a sale from listing through closing.
- To send buyer-list notices about new listings, which you can stop at any time.
- To keep records required by law and by our professional obligations.
- To operate, secure, and improve our website.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
Who we share it with
We share information only as needed to do our work:
- Service providers that store and process data on our behalf, including our customer relationship management system (where website form submissions are delivered), our email and document tools, e-signature services, and website hosting.
- Parties to a transaction, such as a prospective buyer who has signed a non-disclosure agreement, and the attorneys, accountants, and lenders involved in a deal, in each case only to the extent you have authorized.
- Legal requirements, when we are required to by law, subpoena, or court order, or to protect our rights.
Google services
We use Google Workspace (Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive, Google Sheets, and Google Docs) to run our business, and we use software tools that connect to those Google accounts to help us read, organize, draft, and schedule our own work. These tools access only our own Google accounts. They do not access your Google account, and they are used solely to provide our brokerage services.
Any information we obtain from Google accounts through these tools is handled in accordance with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. We do not transfer that information to anyone except as needed to provide our services, to comply with the law, or as part of a merger or sale of the business. We do not use it for advertising, and we do not allow humans to read it except for security, legal compliance, or with your consent.
Legacy Handoff shares these tools with affiliated companies under common ownership, including UNITS of Utah and Spreckels Capital. The same protections apply to each.
How long we keep it
We keep inquiry information for as long as we are in contact with you about a potential transaction, and we keep transaction records for as long as the law and our professional obligations require, generally seven years after a deal closes. You can ask us to delete your inquiry information at any time, subject to those obligations.
Security
We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit, access controls, and reputable hosting and software providers, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices
- Marketing. Every buyer-list email includes an unsubscribe link, or you can email us and ask to be removed.
- Access and correction. Email us and we will tell you what personal information we hold about you and correct anything that is wrong.
- Deletion. Email us and we will delete your personal information unless we are required to keep it.
Children
Our services are for business owners and investors. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here and update the date at the top of the page.
